The West London club has made Alexis Sanchez their top target this summer according to reports, with the hope that Antonio Conte can tempt the player to make the move.
The Chelsea manager is in talks with the club trying to secure a new deal, with Summer transfers being part of the discussions. One of which is Arsenal’s top player, who hasn’t yet agreed on a new contract with the club.
The other priority for the Italian is a left sided defender, which he also hoping to bring in this summer. Sanchez looks set to leave the club in the coming months, with the player having played for the North London club for over three years. However, he has become increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress at the club and wants a new challenge.
Although his contract expires in 15 months, it will be hard to bring the player in because of the clubs rivalry. The Gunners will be more likely to try and sell the player off to the likes of Juventus and other non-domestic teams, instead of another Premier League club if the player chooses to leaves.
The Chilean is currently on £130,000 a week but is asking for a rise to £250,000 and has made this non-negotiable. Although Arsenal will probably be able to afford this, whether they will stretch to this is another matter. This means the only realistic clubs the player could go to is Chelsea, Juventus or Paris Saint-Germain.
